Video guides for applying AS5?

Tue Jul 15, 2014 4:55 pm

I've installed a couple dozen CPUs in my time building computers but I'm never quite sure I'm putting the right amount of AS5 on the CPU or in the best location(s). I was going to search Youtube for a guide but I'd figured I'd check here first, just in case there is a particular tutorial considered better than others.

Thanks in advance for any help!

I would trust guidance from [Arctic] Silver directly, although guidance from the company is not in video format:

http://www.arcticsilver.com/intel_appli ... thod.html#

Their methods are how I do it, anyway.

Thank you,

I was just looking at that website when you replied. Seems like the best place to start. :)

AS keeps the application instructions quite updated. I see that they have some major revisions since the last time I checked there.

The only thing I would like to add is for HDT heatsinks. Some may have gaps and should be prefilled to make sure when the stuff on the CPU is spread out, it does not stop at those gaps.
The Model M is not for the faint of heart. You either like them or hate them.
