Just found Amazon's Today's deals and this one caught my eye: Dell UltraSharp U2414H 23.8 inches in $200!

Just be aware that is a 6-bit + AFRC panel and not an 8-bit one. It is not uncommon in this screen size.

Honestly, I'd try to reach the $300 U2515H, 25" @ 2560x1440. Or if you are willing to give up the stand and the extra dpi of the dell, the Asus MX259H, 25" @ 1920x1080
Anyway, 6-bit + AFRC is not inherently bad, just be aware that you might notice banding on images.

Nice deal here on a pair of U2412 1920x1200 with a dual stand!

And by nice deal I mean 2 monitors with stand for $152. So really nice deal. Not sure how long it will last.

Increasing price range is not a biggie but then I will have limited options for getting more stuff. So, I think it is wiser to hold it back a little more!
