RX 480 4GB for $170!

Thu Nov 24, 2016 11:28 pm

Newegg has PowerColor's RED DRAGON RX 480 4 GB for $170 (+ Civ IV). The card only has one fan, and I was unable to find any reviews. This deal lasts three days (until Saturday).

Hey, nice find! This will make a good upgrade for a friend of mine that's still rocking a 750 Ti.

Good to see it has an 8-pin Aux power connector. Yes, yes, I know the driver update fixed the issue a long, long time ago but I personally would rather get an RX 480 with an 8-pin connector. I can sleep better at night that way. Some headroom is always better than just merely meeting what is necessary.

I was/am trying to nab the MSI RX480 Gaming X 4GB for $180 after MIR.  There were a couple short times before black friday that newegg was doing an additional 5% off ($10) with mobile checkout bringing the total to $170 after MIR + free Civ6, but I figured I'd wait since in the past they offered similar promos on black friday.  Now black friday come and gone with no 5% code offered that day, nothing today for cyber monday, and now I see Civ6 isn't showing up on any of the RX480's on newegg today......BLAST!!!

Good gravy. I just wanted to compare Amazon to see if there were any deals there and the prices are more than a little higher. On the order of 40 or more bucks higher. Higher than I thought was normal for the 4GB version, even, at $229.
I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do.

Now it's $180..

Is it worth $35 more for the 480 vs a premium 470?
