I'd be a little leery... both of the listings at that price are from brand new 3rd party accounts with zero customer feedback.

OTOH, at that price it is difficult to go wrong unless they try to hit you up for unexpected additional fees (e.g. import duty, since it is coming from the UK).

Do you suppose there's any risk of fraud or identity theft, or would you be safe from behind Amazon's curtain?  (not sure how Amazon handles payments to 3rd party sellers)

If its too good to be true, it usually is.

That said, amazon payment does not pass CC # or really anything to the vendor but an authorization/confirmation of payment and contact info + shipping address.

I sure hope there's no risk since I have one on order. I didn't see anyway to go wrong at $3.05, but you can never be sure. "If something seems to good to be true, it probably isn't" (or something like that)

I believe Amazon protects your privacy on 3rd party transactions, other than your shipping address (which the seller obviously needs to know).

My guess is that this "too good to be true" deal is either A) stolen merchandise; B) counterfeit merchandise; C) defective merchandise (i.e. returns); or D) they are going to try to hit you up for extra fees somehow. I find it hard to believe they could ship you a name-brand tower-style CPU cooler for $3.05 and make a profit.

Please let us know how it turns out.

I very much doubt that will even ship. Amazon will be in charge of the transaction which will limit it to $3.05 of your funds being given to the seller, and international shipping is $24.99 for 14-48 day standard international shipping, or $46.50 for expedited shipping.

The seller clearly doesn't know what they're doing and they've listed this incorrectly, as well as failed to setup their marketplace shop correctly. All of their international shipping is free because it's all been left blank. The seller will vanish and Amazon will credit your account $3.05 if they ever even deduct $3.05 from you in the first place.

If you do happen to receive a 212 EVO in the next six weeks, I'll laugh - mainly because someone is severely screwing up at Amazon. There's no way the seller could make a profit on that even if they were stolen goods; the real cost of listing, administration and packaging physical objects like that far outstrips the $3.05 per unit.
Congratulations, you've noticed that this year's signature is based on outdated internet memes; CLICK HERE NOW to experience this unforgettable phenomenon. This sentence is just filler and as irrelevant as my signature.

It's going to need to be better than double! Cheapest shipping I could find from the UK to the US is £12.49 via USPS, which is 16 bucks.

The postage alone is discounted by 81% and that assumes that there are no admin fees, import duty, amazon charges to the seller and also assumes that the item is stolen and worth nothing! Perhaps I'm wrong, but do USPS ever offer 81% discounts for lugging chunks of metal halfway around the planet during peak mail-order season?

Didn't think so.... :P

Chrispy, nobody here is arguing against your logic.  But if someone wants to sell me something at a loss, I could care less.

[update] My order from seller "HuaguabiQW" has already been cancelled by Amazon.

*update*

Product was listed as "Shipped" on Amazon site. Tracking information led me to an address in Houma, LA. (I'm in SC) Tried to contact seller but email cannot be delivered because the seller has left the Amazon platform. I was issued a refund from Amazon.

It was a fun test, but we all knew what the outcome was going to be.

Now I'll be needing a cooler for my upcoming build in a few months. Suggestions? :)

I went with a shotgun methodology and bought from 3 different sellers.  One order was cancelled by seller almost immediately, the other hasn't yet shipped (not optimistic about it actually shipping), the third says the package has shipped, no tracking info yet, but the ETA is 12/27-1/12.  I guess that's my gift-horse.  We'll wait and see.
