With the improvements AMD have been making with their Linux graphics drivers, I would be strongly considering getting this card if I was building a Linux gaming box. Not a bad price, weren't they like ~$300 something last year?

I think the average dual-fan was going for $260+ (as high as $310), though this one is a lower priced model (..so maybe $250 6 months ago).

Still, I don't remember too many deals lower than this for an 8 GB.  I think Jet had a multi-combo deal going that pushed a blower version down lower (around Black Friday/Cyber Monday), but that's about the only thing.

IF you can wait (AND likely spend more), then I think you/(anyone) would be better off waiting for Vega.

Well I won't be building another system anytime soon unless someone wants me to build them one. Maybe in three years perhaps?

Nice. Should continue to get even lower, Vega is still one or two months off from launching.

I don't think Vega is going to replace Polaris, we will probably see better tweaked perf/W Polaris refresh like GTX 460->560.

And yeah $250+ RX 480s are just too steep for a mere +20% performance over >$170 RX470...At $300 people will rather swing towards a GTX 1070. With the $135 MIR RX470s I don't see much reason to get a $190 RX480 either.
