Decent looking, but Buy.com has a PNY 6800 PCIe card (no speeds listed) for $189.99 - $40 in rebates.

Eh, it sort of does, albeit with 128mb memory and a slower core/mem clock. It's called the 6800NU, and it runs about $175 online. :)

Yeah that was up on newegg the morning of the TR article... They took it off in a matter of minutes IIRC, glad to see it back. I think the card in general is a hot deal, a really good option considering before its launch it was best to wade through the sea of cut down high end cores to find a decent deal, quite confusing really, glad to see this around.

Actually, I went to that link a short while after he posted it. It was still there. Dunno about the whole "disappearance" thing

He posted it this afternoon, not yesterday morning

It was up on newegg but then dissapeared for about a day I geuss, that's all I was saying.

As for the 6800gs for $6 more than the 209$ one with the stock (425/1000) clocks you can get an XFX version with 485/1100 standard clocks. Not that the core of the XFX has any more headroom but I figure they might have put some better RAM on there to insure 1100 MHz operation. Although that is obviously just speculation, I recall XFX running RAM above its rated speed on a recently released up clocked product.
