HP Proliant Microserver for around £100!

Sat Mar 26, 2011 9:16 am

UK Gerbils may be interested in this deal. Hp are offering the Proliant Microserver n36l, Athlon N36L dualcore Neo CPU, 1GB RAM, 250GB HDD With £100 cash back!
You can find it online for around £200 so with cashback thats only £100 smackers for a nifty little NAS.

Had one in at work yesterday and they seem pretty well built. You get 4 drive bays with caddies, 5 sata ports (4 for the caddies + 1 for another drive, be it optical or another hdd), 1 e-sata port, 6 external usb ports and one internal for usb booting, up to 8 GB max mem, a vga out, blahh, blahh, etc, etc... Oh and it runs really quiet too, way quieter than my Zyxel NSA2400.

Seems like a steal at this price but the offer reportedly runs out end of march though they have extended it several months since the last deadline.

I'm off to get one right now!!!
If we cannot be free, at least we can be cheap! FZ.

Seems a bit odd to ship a storage server with only 250GB, but with 3 more bays and cheap HDs readily available, this does sound like a really good deal.
Nostalgia isn't what it used to be.
