I'm only a little PO'd I didn't wait for this. I got a 2600K for $270 after taxes at MC a month ago, but haven't had the time to put the new rig together, heh. Honestly, the 2600K is such a beast of a processor I didn't think MC would drop the price this low.

Anyway, enough of my problems. Go get the deal if you can :D.

Wowza. That's almost worth the gas to drive 3+ hours to Chicago or St. Louis. All 3 of the closest stores have it in stock.

I'd be more than happy to ship you my unopened 2600K for $270 and I'll pick up a 2600K today for $199, derFunkenstein.

Half kidding. MC is 20 minutes from work (an hour from home), and if I didn't just want to blast out of here when 5pm rolls around, I might be posting this on the bargain basement forum.

That's a great deal. Wish I wasn't on S1156. Oh well. My i7 860 should last me plenty long enough.

Making me cry that I don't have 200$ to spare. To eBay, Robin! We need operating capital!

Ugh. This really, really makes me want to upgrade even more... I wish I could just spend my money on new computer parts without feeling guilty about the impending doom of my motor vehicle.

I spent most of yesterday trying to decide if I wanted to buy this or wait for ivy bridge. I had it in my cart ready to purchase (credit card was out and next to me) and then couldn't log in to their server.

I'm in a ~5 year upgrade cycle (except GPU), so I'm thinking that getting a CPU that is hopefully cooler and a tad faster with PCI Express 3 might come in handy. I'm going to pay at least an extra $100 for that privilege though and unless it overclocks to the hilt, it isn't going to be much faster. It's very tempting to just go and buy one.
