Hello Fellow Gerbils
After long years with a beloved Sandy (the best proc ever), I upgraded to the 9900k/ Z390e build in my sig. The assembly and transition were great, the performance boost has been sizable, and it's been very stable. However there are a couple of issues that I can't seem to resolve and would appreciate some help from the wiser members of the community:
1) The USB 3.1 performance of the board has been terrible. I recently bought a Lexar CFexpress card with 1750 MB/s R/W and USB 3.1 card reader that, coupled with the onboard USB 3.1 should be VERY fast in unloading the big files from my camera. However, with the card reader connected via an Anker Powerline USB C cable to USB C on the mobo I am getting about 35 MB/s, too slow to use. I've tried a different cable and it's the same. When I plug the reader into a blue USB 3.0 port I can get around 300 MB/s, which is better, but means that it isn't the card or reader that is the bottleneck. I've updated chipset drivers from intel and mobo firmware and it's made no difference. The problem seems to be the USB 3.1 on the mobo. Has anyone had this problem or could suggest a solution?
2) The system is unreliable in waking from Sleep. Sometimes it does, sometimes it spins up the power and just sits there. I've looked through the bios but couldn't find any settings that might help. I am pretty sure that it hangs before starting up windows, so I don't think its an OS problem. Does anyone have any suggestions for things I might try?
Thanks in advance for any help!
