What Z68 Gigabyte board to buy that has LucidLogix's Virtu?

Sun Jul 03, 2011 4:59 pm

I am confused.
Three boards in question for my price range:

GA-Z68X-UD3-B3 - cheapest
GA-Z68X-UD3H-B3 - mid
GA-Z68X-UD3P-B3 - most expensive

I wanna buy a motherboard that has what they call "Built-In Visuals" and support for "LucidLogix's Virtu".
See
http://www.gigabyte.com/microsite/279/images/mb-z68-built-in-visuals.html#VIRTU

Now, according to this
http://www.gigabyte.com/microsite/279/images/mb-z68-models.html

the UD3 and UD3P don't have buily-in visuals and virtu, and the UD3H does. The UD3H has "integrated graphics", but I don't want an integrated graphics card - I'm getting a good discrete one, that's why I want Virtu.

Does this mean that on Gigabyte Z68 motherboards, if you want Virtu (in order to use discrete graphics) you have to buy models that come with integrated graphics (!?).

Other than that - what's the difference between the UD3 and the UD3P ?
Generally:
Any recommendations for other boards that will use QuickSync will be appreciated.
And if like said here - http://techreport.com/discussions.x/20955 - Virtu is still kinda faulty -
How does one do gaming using the discrete graphics card and transcoding using QuickSync nowdays ?? Are there no valid error free options?

Thanks for any clarifications!
