Smartboard / Interactive Monitor

Tue Jan 08, 2019 10:45 am

I've been tasked to find such a device for work, but given an insufficient budget ($800 max). I know a projector-based unit is right out, so I'm leaning toward an interactive (i.e. touchscreen) monitor in the 55" class. I've found a couple at about 3x budget from Dell and LG, and am wondering if anyone out there knows of better options. Key wants:

55" or so (small conference room)
1080p minimum
USB/HDMI/DP inputs

Of course, if it accepted input from a Roku or similar streamer, no one in my office would complain.
What we have today is way too much pluribus and not enough unum.

I know back-in-the-day there were 3rd party gadgets you could get that converted monitors to touch. Some were IR position based with multiple emitters (not too unlike the Wii bar) and some were a physical membrane of some sort that you put on top of the screen and calibrated. I don't know if those are still around.
