So i was wondering does a display actually have to have 1080i/p to be consider HD or is it just the resolution it can do? For instance can this be considered 1080i/p:

Different people seem to have various opinions of what is "HD", since the definition is somewhat unclear. Some say "720p or above", some say "1080p" (Sony refers to 1080p as FullHD I think), some say "better than SD (480p/576p).

But from the link, it looks like it can do 1920x1080, meaning 1080p. So yeah, it should be HD.

It's actually a 1920 x 1200 monitor from the looks of it. I've been curious about how well monitors handle HD from CE products. Do they black-bar the top/bottom, or do they do that little bit of stretching to have the image consume the whole panel?

Xbitlabs just did a 24" monitor review:

I ask about all of this because i want to buy a PS3 soon and i want to connect it to the HDMI on that monitor...but of coarse i don't want to buy the monitor untill i know it can actually support the 1080 resolution.

I have my 24" Dell 2407 (1920x1200 native res) hooked up to my xbox360 @ 1080p and a HD satellite receiver @ 720p (since it doesn't do 1080p, and the monitor doesn't have a deinterlacer on the DVI port). My monitor includes the option to stretch the image vertically to fill those extra 120 pixels, or to display black bars. I chose the latter. I don't know the options of that specific one you linked, but worst case is that it will stretch it automatically.
