19" LCD monitor for under $200

Tue Dec 09, 2008 2:32 am

I am looking for a 19" LCD monitor for under $200, there are a few choices out there but I wanted to get some opinions on which is the best value. Widescreen is preferable.

Thanks in advance

Why get just a 19" monitor for under $200? You can get a 22" for under $200 pretty easily these days...

Acer and Hanns-G are good picks. Not the ultra highest quality monitors, but they're good nonetheless.

Definitely consider these two:

ASUS VH226H

ASUS VH222H

22", under $200, and 1920 x 1080 resolution. Should definitely provide a better experience than any 1680 x 1050 monitor.

EDIT:

I should mention, if you do decide to get them, try not to buy from Newegg if you can help it. Their return policy for LCDs, particular dead pixel count, is not that good.

Wow, Awesome picks Kurotetsu! Sheesh.

LCD prices will drop furthur, not just because of the economy but because price fixing in the LCD market had been exposed and companies were fined, so in the comming months expect things to get even better.

Thanks everyone for responding.

Especially you, Kurotetsu, I think I'll go with one of those monitors.

Depending on where you are located, Canada Computers has a 22" Widescreen Samsung on sale for $199. i just bought one 2 days ago.

EDIT: if you can get that Asus thats 1920x1080 maybe you should go with that, this one is only 1680x1050
