I ordered a week ago and it's coming on Thursday.

Was just wondering if anyone had any issues with this revision.

Don't think we have a lot of U2410 owners around here yet. You may want to look at other forums such as Anand and the [H].

Of course, if you find anything please report back. It benefits other gerbils that way.

I have one at work, and I've confirmed it is a A01 revision. I took it home last weekend and was so impressed that when it went on sale yesterday for $100 off, I bought!

Probably the only issue I've had with it is at first, whenever I would open say .jpg files with the built-in Windows Photo Viewer, the actual window that would show the image would have a yellow-greenish tint over the entire picture. I was hooked up through DisplayPort, so I tried DVI and VGA, the problem was still there. I was able to fix this by entirely uninstalling the monitor's driver provided by both Dell and Microsoft and reverting to the standard "Generic Pnp Monitor". I've contacted Dell about this, so I hope they release a driver update. I should say the Generic driver seems to work fine.

I played Left 4 Dead 2 and TF2 at home on it, and it was great looking and I didn't notice any smearing during play. My last monitor (the first 27 inch widescreen Dell made, forget the model) had huge smearing during FPS gameplay, enough to make me return it.

I also got a chance to hook my Xbox and cable to it via. HDMI, and it was superb.

Excellent monitor....mine looks awesome...they take a bit of calibrating but its worth it.
Get hold of the ICM profile made by the guys at TFT Central or Anandtech and you can easily upload it to your monitor.
Mine looked vastly better after doing that.

Just ordered mine today. I'm excited... I'll let you guys know how it turns out. I ended up going the ebay route with the 8% cashback.

Got mine in last week, there isn't any tinting or dithering issues and its rev01 and has a manufacturing date of Jan 2010. So far I'd say its an incredibly bad ass monitor in both display quality and construction. The only problem I have is with the stand.

It seems that after I rotated it vertically and put it back in the horizontal position it isn't exactly level anymore. I think a screw or something might be loose in the stand so I may take it apart when I get home.

I love mine. No issues as far as I can tell.

Would you mind grabbing a level if you have one and seeing if its... well... level?

That would depend on your reference point. A desk might not be level, the floor, or the foundation. Either way, I think you can get it as level as you like.

The desk is level, when I measured the monitor on the stand it wasn't, then I measured just the stand and that wasn't level. Just wondering if anyone else had the same problem with stand.

And I can't make it as level as I want, the stand locks at +90 degrees

That's a color profile issue. Instead of going with the generic driver, which disables color management entirely, you could address that by adjusting the profile in Display Settings. If you don't want to manually calibrate the display (which requires renting/borrowing a colorimeter to do correctly) you should be able to use either the ICM supplied by Dell or -- if that was actually the one with the problem -- a manually-created one like Fighterpilot mentions. Or, if you're not doing any color-sensitive work, just go with sRGB.

I have a pair of the U2410/A00 monitors, neither of which exhibited the green/pink color shift across their surface that some people have noted. And, although Dell supplies a paper report claiming that these monitors are factory calibrated; neither of mine came close in color accuracy for photo-editing purposes -- nor were they alike. However, both calibrated quite easily with an i1display2 colorimeter. Both monitors had the dithering issue in sRGB inherent to their A00 bios. I downloaded and installed the A01 bios when it became available in January (see; forum entry, files), which resolved the issue. All in all, I couldn't be more pleased.

An aside: I also have a pair of the HP2475W monitors which use the previous iteration of the same LG IPS panel. The Dell U2410 is superior by a very small margin in that it calibrates slightly more accurately.

my biggest complaint is that even at its highest, the height is too low. Dell needs to learn from Samsung in the height adjustment dept.
My Samsung 245T goes about 2 inches higher than my U2410. I'd have to but a book under it.. but I use it as my secondary monitor for portrait mode.

I just got mine yesterday. A01 Revision, i was initially surprized at the pronouced yellow tint in the default profile. I loaded up the user profile off tft centrals database. It made things much better. My eyes are so used to my Dell 2001FP it'll take some time to get used to the U2410, but no regrets at all about the monitor. I am very happy with it.

The UltraSharp U2410 has noticeably less screen door effect than the UltraSharp 2001FP.

If anyone has the same problem as me (monitor not level in neutral position) try this:

1. Take the monitor off the stand
2. Remove the four screws on the mounting bracket
3. Take off the bracket and behind it will be some sort of locking mechanism, just make sure all the screws are tight.

I guess something didnt line up right in the warehouses where they put the stands together. It's a great quality stand, they just didn't do a very throughout job when they put the thing together.

I'm having problems getting the portrait mode to work. Should this adjust automatically when I switch the orientation, or do I need to install anything/change a setting?

There is no feedback from the monitor to tell the computer that you've rotated the screen. You have to make the change manually. Right-click on a blank area of your desktop and check out the monitor resolution / properties. There should be an option for switching between landscape and portrait modes and/or rotating 90/180/270 degrees, depending on your video driver and OS version.
