Hard/soft subs on Flash Video

Thu Oct 14, 2010 4:11 am

I'm trying to get subtitles onto F4V video somehow - so far the only way I know how to create a F4V file is through Adobe Media Encoder CS5, and that doesn't support Avisynth at all, nor does it play well with Virtualdub's attempts to frameserve. I'm sure there's a suitable chain out there, can anybody tell me how?

Amazingly enough, soft subs seems to be easier since I'm using JW Player 4.6 - until I realize that the documentation on longtailvideo.com makes no mention whatsoever of its subtitling capabilities. The SRT to XML converting issue isn't that much of an issue compared to this one.

Any ideas?
