What screenshot contest?

The contest isn't even posted yet, but I have got to give TR props for all the contests lately. I don't know the exact stats, but the site has really picked up lately. Even people that have been here for a long time seem to be posting and discussing more, not just the new people. Really good stuff.

Either it is already over or we have a year till it is over. (Feb 11)

Submissions will be accepted until 11:59 PM CT on Tuesday, February 8. After that, we'll judge the entries and announce the winners on February 11. The winners will be sent a PM in the forums and will have 72 hours to claim their prizes.

Yes. Only the screenshots you have posted when the contest closes will be judged.

I know it will take a little time for people to get in, but i'm still surprised there is only one submission so far.

As I was reading the contest details I had my questions on if I would like it. But the first submission... Solitaire.... hahahaha I love it. Has inspired me, now I need to come up with something creative.

Also, due to legal restrictions and the perils of international shipping and customs, this contest is only open to readers in the United States and Canada, excluding Quebec.

I just submitted my photos. I have 1 photo for the funny one and 4 for the best looking. Anyone have any feedback for me? Thanks! I like the just cause screenshots. I hope I get a coupon for that.

Edit: Whoops.. I read "original work" and creative stuff that you've done on your rig (whether it be gaming\graphic art related).. I didn't think it applied exclusively to screen shots of games.

To enter the contest, post your screenshots in this forum thread.

I took the rules as it had to be screenshots. To me that means unaltered, original screen captures from a game.

Nice looking stuff though.

A few people here had posted screen prints of artwork\websites, so I was unsure.

Can somebody who works for the site or is responsible for the rules weigh in?

Understood. I figure those people know that those "shots" won't count.

You do however still have time to get some screenshots though! So why not? It's not like playing video games and talking sweet caps can be THAT bad.

I didn't enter the contest for me. I already have an overclocked GTX570, doing it for a friend who has a total crap GPU but he's way too poor to get just about anything. That's the whole reason for me entering and putting my best foot forward here.

I'll see if I can't get some Crysis 2 screen grabs or something if the guys here decide my stuff is out of bounds.

Tinyeye is turning up a lot of hits on these. I can't tell if people think they can't check if content is original or if they thought it was a google image search competition.

I can validate that all of mine are 100% original.

I was speaking generally. I tried one on the first page and one on the second, both had hits. I didn't check everything.

Mine are all original as well. I would hope TR would do basic checks first before awarding the winners

Where do you guys normally host your photos at? The only space I have is restricted and you can't hot link there.

I used Flickr from Yahoo, and you share the screenshot from Flickr to the forum by copy/paste BBCode onto your post. Hopes the info helps you.

Yeah I know I only have a few posts on this site, and call me a whistle blower, but some of SUSHRUKH's pics are not real screenshots, and more than likely not his work at all - since it exists here http://www.tineye.com/search/1fdab8259b ... eb9cb4cb7/ in several different versions. I know some of the shots are spoofs, jokes, or clearly marked as photo shopped but this one might have alterior motives.

Dissonance, are my entries valid?

Vulgotha, I would think they would be valid if those screen shots are in-game screen shots from actual games. I believe you said they where your works of art.. just my 2cents.

They are very well done if I may say so myself.
