I hope there are some video enthusiasts here.
I have some content in 1920x1080p@60fps, filmed by one of the Sony cameras, and I would like to edit/view it. The supplied software seems weird, so I need to find what to use.
The problem is, that the content is super heavyweight ~10GB for 1 hour. And doesn't seem to play well with most video software I've ever heard of. For editing, Virtual DUB doesn't know what MTS is, Avidemux requires AVI.
For playback, this thing chokes EVERYTHING WMP seems to be affected the least, but it still has some sort of sound glitches occasional hiccups, CPU usage is way below 100%, and the laptop seems to work almost equally bad as desktop PC. VLC goes dark by default, chokes like crazy with "input & codecs->skip H.264 smth deblocking" set to skip all and GPU decoding enabled. Video playback on Linux is completely fubared, most players get stuck with black screen or first frame. ffdplay works the best, but still, really, really, really bad...
Has anyone found a way to edit these files and play them back at full quality?
