AMD video color settings and Netflix

Wed Nov 28, 2012 1:09 pm

I've been fussing with the color settings on my HTPC to compensate for my front projector's lack of brightness. For a good long time, any movie with a dark scene was nearly unwatchable due to lack of details in the shadowed areas. For the most part, I've hit upon a good combo of gamma, brightness and saturation. I'm using the latest Catalyst drivers and making the adjustments in the CCC.

DVD video is looking good. AVI files are great. Blu-Ray is just about perfect. The problem comes with Netflix. I don't know if it's the Silverlight format or if there is some sort of override, but using the Netflix app within WMC does not implement the video settings.

Does anyone have any information on this situation? Similar complaints? Solutions? Directions? Dirty jokes?
