When playing with the clock speeds with Asus GPU Tweak II, I've managed to get the card to +150 boost clock, +1000 memory clock (1403/8010) while retaining full stability at any situation, without errors or crashes across a variety of workloads, from "realistic" benchmarks, games, up to even the likes of the OCCT 3D stress test in error-check mode. With some help of a power and temperature limit bump up to 120% and 91C, up from 100% and 79C - left them linked. Curiously, temps never went past 75C, and usually peaks about 72-73C, even with no AC turned on in the room. (Dealing with a room temp of about 29-34C if no AC here during daytime. Yay equator.)
Though, now I wish I could throw in more voltage. The tool doesn't appear to allow me to throw in more voltage. It caps itself at about +38mV. That's not much of an overvolt, huh? Same deal with MSI Afterburner. Whoops.
Now I kind of wish I had a better chip in the silicon lottery, or the voltage could be unlocked. Though, I've also heard that the card needs to do some hardware modding to even be able to boost voltage, so... I guess I'm out of luck here, no? Hopefully I'm wrong about it...
(By the way, how good/bad is the overclock for this particular variant of 970?)
