Biostar TP45 HP and Hyper 212+

Sun May 20, 2012 8:08 pm

Hi Everyone,

Been searching for a bit, and couldn't find any information. I'm trying to cool my Q8400 C2Q a bit better than the stock heatsink. Seems like Hyper 212 is a good, cheap solution. Not quite sure about the dimensions. I'm using a Biostar TP45 HP, in an Antec 300 case.

I measured out the height and that seems ok, but I'm a bit worried about the length and width clearance. The ram slots and chipset heatsinks are pretty close to the CPU, so I'm not sure if it would fit. Has anyone tried this combination?

If this won't fit, is there a heatsink+fan combo that someone could recommend that would fit?

Thanks!

I can confirm that the CoolerMaster Hyper 212 Plus (or Evo) will fit into the Antec Three Hundred case. As long as your RAM heatsinks aren't super-tall (e.g.: Corsair Dominator), you should be okay.

Awesome thanks. Just put in my order. Just found that my CPU has been topping out at 90C when on full load, so figured it was time for better cooling. This isn't even overclocked!

Also found that my 120mm exhaust fan and my 140mm exhaust fans both basically stopped working, which probably contributes to the abnormally high temps.

make sure you filled in the crevices where the heat pipes are on the hyper, if yours doesnt have the completely flat bottom.
