It is over rated. If you want a killer air cooler the Thermalright Silver Arrow is about the best with the Noctua NH-D14 right on its heels. The Phanteks PH-TC14PE is a awesome cooler also. Cannot forget the SilverStone Heligon HE01 and a HE02 also along with Thermalright TRUE Spirit 140 and the Archon also. There are so many good air coolers.

I like the AIO water coolers...but that's just me. No worries about tall memory and they make for a clean looking CPU socket area.

I do too. I currently use Corsair's h100i. I just came a cross an add with that thing.

I like it. (*'▽')

I have an NH-C14 and I've found it generally leads to better overclocks than the NH-D14 my brother has. (We tested them both on my CPU.) The NH-C14 is a down-draft cooler, and it helps cool the VRMs and RAM. I think it's better, really.

Optimus Prime? Seriously, that was my first thought. It looks like Optimus Prime's head, missing the blue obviously.

That is definitely one weird looking cooler. However, having the fans sandwiched between multiple sets of heatpipe radiators like that is an interesting approach. I wonder if it works any better than traditional designs?

My main gripe with it is the use of non-standard fans. Can't swap 'em out to trade noise against performance, or to replace a fan that dies down the road.
Nostalgia isn't what it used to be.

The V-10 was a Peltier based flop with a lot of build issues. But it sure was huge and looked mean as heck.
I feel sorry for any motherboard that held that monstrosity up...probably stress cracked a few MB's just by bumping your case when you walk by.

It's an interesting design, but it seems like having a fan sandwiched would create more turbulence and noise.

Also I agree with JBI. For a cooler this expensive (that you likely would keep for a few generations) non-replaceable fans = NOPE.

I reviewed that cooler and hated it. It was hard to install, loud, and didn't really perform well enough to justify the cost or the hassle.

It's in the closet...never got motivated enough to even give it away. I'm not mean like that.
