which one to get among these Hitachi 2TB 64MB 7200RPMor WD 2TB 64MB Green Seagate 2TB 64MB 5900RPM.these are in a same pricepoint and are sata 3.
which is generally the lasting one,wd has longer warranty but it's slower but hitachi is 7200rpm,but are they good.

I generally trust Hitachi more than Seagate. Do you have model numbers? If those are "new old stock" of older drives you may have issues getting factory warranty service.

2 TB is pretty small for a hard-drive by modern standards. A larger drive (up to about 8 TB for $195) would provide more storage per dollar (less than $25/TB). Here's an inexpensive option:
$71 3 TB WD30EZRZ 5400 rpm hard-drive
Remember that the cheapest SSDs are coming in at $100 per TB, so an SSD might be practical in this size range.

Yeah the smallness of the drives is what made me question whether they might be older drives (from potentially dodgy vendors). Should've made that clear.

I generally trust Hitachi and Toshiba more than the other brands these days for spinning drives.

The usual clicking noise from the Toshiba is not inspiring confidence over the long term. Yes, I have one of their performance line 5TB drives and it seems ok so far.

That's not just Toshiba, though. I have a WD 8TB Helium based external drive. It also emits a low clicking noise when idle. Maybe some kind of housekeeping to optimize the sectors?

For what it's worth, no hard drive manufacturer is immune to failures. They are mechanical devices, after all.

In general, I have had very good luck with the quality of Toshiba/Hitachi drives. I have bunch of them. But I did have one 4TB NAS drive fail (in a RAID-10 array). The warranty process was relatively straight-forward and low hassle. After they received my drive and verified it met the warranty requirements, they sent me a VISA gift card for the original price of the drive.
