Fellow gerbils, lend me your brains. I've outgrown my current workstation, and so I have three 1TB SSDs to play with in an upcoming build. The current plan is to do a ZFS mirror. It'll be a "do everything" kind of machine with primary use cases of virtualization, CI/CD, plus whatever shenanigans I can get into while continuing my research into the deep learning thing. I'll probably be running a few databases for local dev sites as well.
ZFS interests me, and Ubuntu 20.04 allows for running ZFS on root, so I'd like to check it out. I do have the Synology box for backups still, but I'd also like to have some redundancy in the workstation just in case. The current machine has a single 1TB SSD which still has about 300GB free, so capacity isn't really at a premium at the moment. I can always create another pool and add more drives later if I start working with larger data sets, correct?
