How come QNAP doesn't have anything like Synology's SHR?

QNAP seems to provide better hardware/price ratios, but it's missing an equivalent to Synology's Hybrid RAID - the ability to use mixed-size disks while utilizing their full capacity. Isn't that a strange omission?

People generally try not to mix drive sizes...so while it's a nice feature, it's not a requirement.

You can accomplish similar things with clever partition layouts but I'm not sure QNAP plays nicely for that.
