Hard Drive Speed Test

Fri Jun 29, 2012 9:17 am

I've heard that Windows Vista/7 has some sort of hard drive speed test hidden in the Device Manager (in the controller properties), but for the life of me I can't find it. I'm looking for a free, lightweight, and unobtrusive HDD speed test program. Any suggestions?

Crystal Disk Mark is what ppl generally use now.

the other 2 I know are,
ATTO
HD Tach HD Tach by Simpli Software is no longer supported. I dunno about the condition of this app.

Not so free one;
HD Tune

No idea about Windows one. There is Windows Performance Index with HDD performance rating if you meant that..
i5-2500k@4.5 GHz, Noctua C14 to keep it cool, ASUS Z68-V PRO/GEN3, 2x4 GB DDR3-1600 G-SKILL RipjawsX, EVGA GTX970 SSC+, Seasonic X750W (no coil whine, yay), 1x256GB Samsung 830 SSD, 2xSamsung 1 TB RAID 0, 1x2 TB WD Green, NEC 7173-S, Enermax Chakra
