Get yourself an external hard drive with the fastest interface your laptop supports (USB, eSATA, etc.) and use the free edition of Macrium Reflect to create an image of the entire hard drive. That will assure you get everything and could even restore to another hard drive if yours fails. I would also suggest making an independent copy of your important files, etc. to the same drive so you can access them easily on another machine without having to mount the drive image, etc.
There may also be functionality built into your operating system to do both of these things, but I've had good success with Macrium and can recommend it as working well.
If you haven't lost anything without any backups consider this a huge blessing and please backup in the future - the relatively low cost of time and resources looks like an absolute bargain from the other side of a loss of pictures, documents, etc.
Best of luck!
