(all drives run in AHCI mode)

I'm running this config with the SSD (sans the R9 270x) for about 2.5 Years now. In the last couple of months the issue of heavy system lags when a program is writing a lot of data (copying a large file or Installing a program) on to the SSD has developed. I first noticed it during steam game updates, the machine becomes nearly unusable (switching between browser tabs can take up to 10 seconds, starting a small program can take up to 5 Minutes switching between open program can take up to 10 seconds) Notice that I wrote can take up to X because the lag fluctuates during the write/install process and it can become so bad that even the cursor freezes.

CPU Load seems okay never realy surpassing 40%
Smart Values of the SSD are all good and at 100/of x
TRIM and NCQ are active
SSD hast he newest firmware and the board has the newest BIOS Version Drivers are up to date

Can you run CrystalDiskInfo and post the SMART results from there? 2.5 years of use (with things like Steam games on it) might be increasing the write wears, so it'll be good to see that SMART data.

Also, can you run Resource Monitor during those periods (start it in advance) and monitor the disk queue length against the SSD? Ideally, those values should be < 1.

Sure I can but i already had a look at the smart values and they are all very good with a minimal level of SSD wear

CDI says your M4 is 0309...the latest firmware is 070H

Is your pagefile on your SSD or one of the drives?

Does your UEFI have a 'SATA IDE Combined Mode' enabled? Disable that.

I would also doublecheck in the device manager and make sure the drive (or any drive) has not switched to PIO mode.

That will slow the machine down and can make it feel unresponsive just like you mention.

i will update the ssd as sone as the backup is complete
yes page file is on the SSD but only like 2GB
My Bios does not a SATA IDE combined mode

I tried but I don't have the option where it should be but I have 2 ATA 0 Channels and 2 ATA 1 Channels is that strange ?
