How do you assign specific device for specific app?

EDIT: Nevermind. I found it. For those wondering, Settings>System>Sound>App Volume and device preferences

Nice.

I've been doing something functionally similar (albeit much messier, and with some limitations) on Linux for a number of years, using the JACK audio stack. My original motivation was to be able to provide different EQ curves for speaker and headphones, but it also provides some very flexible audio routing options. Unfortunately this only works for applications which have native JACK support; all generic PulseAudio applications get routed as a group (since PA behaves as a single JACK source).
Nostalgia isn't what it used to be.

Nice.

It'd be even better if it would also not make the default audio output change device on new driver installs. (I don't want audio through my monitor just because I've updated a GPU driver, thanks, that's what the soundcard and speakers are for...)
