Snipping Tool & Print Screen

Thu Sep 05, 2019 7:12 am

I am using Windows 10 Pro Build 1903 and having the following problem:
Image copied by Snipping Tool or Print Screen(PrtScn) looks as if seen through light brown filter. Another word, entire image has light brown color cast.
Any remedy?

That's a new one. Print screen should a complete raw bitmap of what is being displayed, so I don't think anything could intercept that to modify. If you paste it into paint, save it as a tiff and then reopen it is it still brown?

Weird stuff happens with compositing window managers sometimes, depending on what hardware acceleration capabilities of the GPU are being used. Might be able to get a "clean" screen capture by tweaking your display settings.
Nostalgia isn't what it used to be.

Usacomp2mYk3: My paint do not have tiff option.

justbrewit!: I reviewed Display Settings but could not find anything to do with my problem. Do you have any specific suggestion?

When I click "New" on snipping tool, light brown color cast happens. When using Print Screen, the color cast shows on image pasted on Paint.

Look in the color profile settings for you monitor. It sounds like you have a set color profile where one program displays it with, and one without. If you cut and paste and don't convert the color space properly, it can get more and more casted as well, depending.

I see many color profiles but the selected profiles are all defaults.

I captured monitor screen by two different ways as stated in my original post and which resulted in the same problem symptom.

I found a solution for my case: It is disabling one of Windows services or System Interface Foundation. It appears for Lenovo machine.
