web cam

Mon Oct 31, 2022 2:54 pm

Hi,
I have a Thinkbook 15 Gen 2 15" laptop. 11th generation i5, 16 GB, 500 GB SSD. All works find except I can't get my web cam to activate. Looking in the device manager, it is there with no problem. But I try the Windows 10 camera app and it can't find the web cam. Tried with Skype and Teams and the same thing. I checked the camera setting in Windows 10 settings and all is turned on but no camera. Lenovo has a app called Vantage which I downloaded, and there is a privacy setting, but the toggle to turn it off / on is missing.

Any thoughts of what else I can check?

thanks,

Check the BIOS/UEFI settings for the camera.
What we have today is way too much pluribus and not enough unum.

Went on site to check the bios and instead found that the Lenovo has a flap that covers the camera and turns it on.

Somethings you just can't see remotely.

thanks
