Hello, I've just about got my new lubuntu rig all set up and working as I want it to, now I'm thinking about seeing how much I can get out of this G3258K without sacrificing too much quietness or pushing the temps too close to the max. I figure temps probably wont be too much of an issue, an hour in CPUburn got a max of 40C in an ambient of 25C (without the fan changing from minimum rpms). CPU idle temp is 23C (+ or minus a few deg I guess). So I'm hopeful the HSfan and tp are doing a good job!
Obviously I've got CPUburn installed and working, but I'm not sure what other options are out there? The only other two that I know of are mprime and Phoronix test suite. mprime looks complicated to install and get working, lots of conflicting advice about getting it running. I'm still very much trying to remember my way around the command line. Phoronix appears to be aimed at large organisations and I suspect is probably far more complex than my needs require, although I may give it a go anyway. I read something about using SETI, but I'm not sure that's likely to give me as much of an indicator of how stable the system is as something written for the purpose of doing so, or am I wrong about that?
Can anyone suggest any other programs for me to look into?
Thanks,
lleaf
