I am trying to install FreeNAS on a Mac Pro (mid-2012)

Specs:
Intel Quad Core Xeon @ 3.2 GHz
8 GB PC3 10600E RAM (4x2GB sticks)
AMD Radeon HD 5770 w/ 1 GB
8 TB HDD Storage (4x2TB disks)
8 GB Flash Drive

I installed FreeNAS via DVD to the Flash drive, rebooted the machine, held down Alt and selected the USB Flash drive.

It boots up, gives me the option for FreeNAS 9.10.2, asks me if I want to do a Normal Boot, then hits me with the following lines:

Looks like someone ran in to the same issue on a Dell but was able to switch to BIOS booting https://bugs.freenas.org/issues/18224

Unless I am missing the something, I don't believe there is a way to change Mac hardware to boot via BIOS instead of EFI, which seemed to have been the fix for that link.

Any way to try with a different keyboard, or to plug in a USB keyboard after boot sequence? I have a certain cheap USB mouse at home that just kills Linux/BSD boots - I think it's a Kensington.

The problem is that it isn't finding the ACPI table (the RSDP) so it doesn't think that it has an APIC. It knows it doesn't have an AT PIC, and no interrupt controller means it can't run.

If you can fix the ACPI tables in the UEFI, or force it to have an APIC on the boot command line then it may fire up.

Mac Pro 5,1 you say?

Where you at? Want to swap for some similar capability PC hardware? I'll even throw FreeNAS on ahead of time and test it out for ya.
