SETUP Lenovo Y900 RE i7 6700K with an SLI ready mobo 16GB ram 512 SSD 4TB HD 600W PSU Win 10 Pro X64
I am currently running an RTX 2070 as my gaming graphics card and it folds @ 1 Mill PPD.
I have a second slot open for another card in my board but I do not want to run SLI.
My goal is to populate that second slot with a graphics card that will FOLD 24/7 . Does it matter what card is in that slot? Will a GTX1080 or other pascal card play "ok" with the Turing card in the primary slot?
or
Do I have to buy another Turing card for this?
Will my Win 10 Pro operating system and the Folding @ Home Client automatically see the second card if I simply Slot it into that PCI X 16 slot and will this just work or will I have to do any further setup?
Finally, will my i7 6700k oc'd to 4.4ghz 16gb ram have enough horsepower to fully max out the folding PPD while both cards are running at the same time? (RTX 2070 1 mill ppd GTX 1080 800 PPD for example).. I have 4 CPU cores also dedicated to folding.
I can install the potential card into my backup Dell XPS 8300 it 2400 8GB but than the electric bill would be higher than the above (rite?).
