W00T .. and with 215 points from The Blue Beast, Frankenbot rumbles into 99th place :D plus there are nearly four more folding days until All Hallows Eve 8)

edit .. a momentary slide back to #100 .. his overtake list is most interesting

Leor's permanent Fbot is shipping to him today, so he'll join in the fray soon enough.

edit .. a little after ten here in the cornfield and the bot now has 14 cpus .. gerbils rule!

3 AM on Halloween day here in the cornfield. Frankenbot is in the top 90 .. 86th .. just a neckbolt in front of Convert and just a half a step in front of eckslax. Thanks to all who have helped with his sp00ky rise.

edit - Watch out Frankenbot !! Those guys will probably kick your a$$ when the rest of us head for home. I recommend "duck and cover" .. maybe they won't notice you as they roar past.

Yeah, I'll second that, thanks for everyone helping get Fbot up a little.

On the good news side of things, I have finally got the first diskless bot to boot all the way up and start the folding client. It is late (well early now), and I don't feel like fixing the gateway to the thing so it can fold.

Look for TRFrankenbot to have 2 more cpu's added tomorrow, and there are two more on the way. I have enough boards for 5 more after that if and when we round up the processors.

nope .. "-send all" only sends finished WUs .. you must let it finish or trash it .. thanks for the help, but don't unduly risk your lappy. You could throttle it back to 50% in the config and let it finish.

usacomp2k3, you could have just run -configonly and changed the username back to yours and then let the unit finish in the days ahead while you were using the computer. It is unlikely that the deadline was close.

cass, it's not that I didn't want to give fbot any more points than I had to...it's that I don't want the strain on my laptop any more than necessary...and if it would be until probably tomorrow before it would finish, I just decided to cancel the other one mid-processing

Adios Frankie, it's been a slice. Maybe we can get together and party for another week this time next year. You're now a solid fixture in the top 100, w00t. It's time for me to circle my resources and make some progress. I'm closing on the top 300 and hope to make the top 200 by the end of the year. Sooo, fold long and prosper .. I'll be sending you a few bucks for your processor/memory fund as soon as I am able.

Usacomp2k, I wasn't worried about you short changing Fbot, I was just saying you could finish the WU in the next few days for results, keeping the project from reissuing the WU after it is not returned. Reallly no big deal either way though .. Thanks.

Precisely why I just renamed the new thread "Make frankenbot scary for halloween -2007" and PM'd the mod about maybe locking this one.

Ok Folks... I'm game!

If someone could offer a brief description of how to do the TRFrankenbot thing, we may be able to make this a real monster!!

Whats the best version to use? And how do I make sure my points are going to TRFrank?

OK... I figured it out by myself.... Should be working!

Downloaded version 5.03

Donator is: TRFrankenbot
Team is : 2630

If there is a more efficent version, let me know!
If not, I'll let this run until Halloween....

farmpuma edit (11 Oct 07): Corrected the team number.

The console version is slightly more efficient than the graphic version and less likely to interfere with gaming.
If you have a dual core cpu and an ATI X1000 series video card:
Best PPD would be the SMP client.
2nd best PPD would be the GPU client plus one console client.
3rd best PPD would be two console clients.
