We Now Face The Dutch!

Tue Jul 16, 2002 9:40 pm

Congratulations! We have moved into 15th (14th non-anonymous) and now must defeat the Dutch Power Cows to gain another level. It seems some people have been adding hardware and the rankings with in our own group change everyday. I Imagine it won't be long before I'm knocked out of the top 10.

hmm beef, good :D

It affects it not at all. The core process runs at idle priority so it gets out of the way of any program you've got going in the foreground. When I run the occasional game or capture and encode video it's as if nothing else is running.

It's fine if you don't put any mayo on it. :) Half of my family lives in Amsterdam so I do have some knowledge ;).

I'm working as hard as I can to help with the BBQ. Got my sauce all ready and the briquettes are heating up :P . Mmmmm Mmmm Good

Screensaver

Wed Jul 17, 2002 9:54 pm

Be careful about those screensavers -- some of them suck processor power. I had one protein running about 1 frame every 47 minutes drop to every 27 minutes when I turned off the screen saver and just had the monitor go blank.

Depending on your O/S, you may be able to set priorities for CPU usage as well (Win2K has this under the Task Manager).

PRIME1...nah..you'll still be in the top 10...I may get bumped away though if I get in front of Coldfirex...

What did you add to your herd? I was closing on you about 5 - 10 points a week and now you're a good 40 over! :D

C'mon Yarbo :)

Sat Jul 20, 2002 1:43 pm

Turning and burning, up to #44. We conquer the Dutch on Monday :D. I added another Athlon box to my lineup replacing my P2/450. Damn, Athlons chew up the units and now that Fry's had a special for a ECS K7S5A MB and a Athlon 1500 XP for 99 bucks, I think another Athlon will be entering the fray this weekend.

Still gunning for the Top 10

Not Icrontic, but....

Sat Jul 20, 2002 3:00 pm

Icrontic should be passing MadOnion soon and I think we have a shot against them for #11. Top 10 would require me to win the lottery and fill a rack with 1U Dual Athlons  ;).
