Hah ha! I made it on to the Tech Report Top 20 list on EOC's stat page! And I broke 700,000 points! Yay for me.

Now what's up with the rest of the team? I'm only running a Core2 Duo and a GTS450 for folding. And that puts me in the Top 20?!

And Fuzzhead, I've gotta ask, how on earth do you get upwards of 80,000 points on a couple units??

To answer your question cfroese.

The i7-970 6 cores get ~92,000 per unit every 1.5 days,
or 62,000 PPD 0n the 6900 bigadv units. Other bigadv
units vary in time and points, from about 80,000 to 110,000
per Work Unit. That is with an overclock to 4.2GHz.

I could do 300k per day if I turned everything on and did not
mind paying $500 per month in electric $'s.

Fold ON,

Hmm, I'm not even folding on my GTX470 full time (I turn it off at night) and I'm already in the top 20 with my Phenom II X6? It's flattering, but a cause for concern at the same time.

Our team has been disappearing. Especially some of those who come in and talk up Folding, get multi-core rigs for SMP folding, and then for whatever reason fade away after not very long.

But now there's a fairly good reason why many bigadv folders may wish to cease contributing. I'll post about it in another thread.

I passed 40,000 WU's today. Whoopee.

And since having had to replace the breaker box last week (slow leak from outside over a period of years), I'm getting back to the new, lower normal daily output after having shut down everything for nearly 4 days. I'm still P.O.'ed about the lower bonus points for bigadv WU's, naturally, and from the way things look, I'm not the only one.

Given the inactivity of this thread, we're apparently all done bragging about our folding prowess. That's too bad.

So here's a little bragging. I passed 10,000,000 points today. Hurray!

The Stanford F@h donor statistics page ( http://fah-web2.stanford.edu/cgi-bin/ma ... =userstats ) generates milestone certificates like this one ( http://fah-web2.stanford.edu/awards/cac ... 195201.jpg ) for every 100,000 points up to a million and then one for each million points milestone. I still collect six eoc ( http://folding.extremeoverclocking.com/ ... s=&u=90263 ) web pages of team 2630 data every four weeks and hope to one day have the time to revive the milestones report. I cherish all of my saved certificates.

Ten Mega congrats to CFroese !

I decided to wait until my millionth point to print/screensnap a certificate, and then 10 M, 100 M, and so on. At my current rate, I might be able to reach 3 million points per month. Don't have room (nor the heat tolerance) for another graphic card in this machine, but I am thinking of resurrecting my old Q6600 and giving it a couple of cheap Tahiti cards for x17 work.

I am at 2.5 million points in less than a month. Never did print the certificate at 1M. It seemed too easy, what with those fat juicy x17 work units. :)

The home office is quite warm with the machine running at full tilt. I have another thread in the SBA forum about building a system purposely for folding, which will go in another room and will run full time while this one will probably switch to "folding at idle or when nobody is home". Still doing some math on that, but if I should decide to go ahead, I'll (hopefully) see a big lurch forward in my progress, and the stats page will be adorned with tire marks from my peelout. And my home office will be more comfortable too.

I am looking forward to October. If upgrade project goes as planned, I may be able to contribute as much as 3M points to TRFrankenbot!

Until then, look out up front, I'm on your tail!

P.S. In terms of PPD, does anybody have any guess as to what a couple of E5 hex-cores could do with BIGADV? Just curious for long-range plans.

I am closing in on 28 million and 1,700 WUs.

I so want to build that folding and rendering server but keep getting waylaid with this or that expense around the house.

So I be patient as NC Rocks approaches me from behind. He'll pass me and maybe stay ahead through the summer, but one of these days I'll come out of spacedock with a new warp reactor and added engine nacelles, and the race will be on!

Approaching 40 million points. The warp reactor has developed a steady rhythm and since the Romulan ale and Klingon mead vats have run dry, the crew has mostly gone into hibernation.

That's crazy awesome Fuzzhead. You're gonna be in the top 100 users VERY soon.

I'm aiming for a tenth of that total this year, and hopefully be in the top 10 for TR. Only got until the end of September before I have to stop folding because it will get too hot here. My rig's cooling is up for it, but my body's is not..

I don't feel I can brag, in fact I feel a bit dirty passing all these guys who have been folding for years, pretty much just because of these big juicy Core 17 WUs. I guess the power consumption is higher for GPU work, but still.

45 million. All systems go!

Fuzzhead, if I ever get the chance to add those dual 18-core warp reactors and dual-dual nacelles, I'll be on your tail!

Npore, you should never feel dirty or apologize. One day, people will pass us too. It is the way of things. Kind of like how we dig up dinosaur bones and wonder how these creatures lived, so lumberingly slow as they were... :-?

I won't be quite up to 160 M by the time we start folding for Frankie at the beginning of October, but I've been pretty happy with my two Nvidia cards.

I still want to build another machine with two Xeon 10-core processors and put 3 GPU cards into it; 4 if I can cram them in and still power and cool them. My goal is to try to start pulling down 1.5 Million points per day by the end of the year. With each new major upgrade or addition, I'll exponentially increase my production. As I mentioned a year ago when I had only 45 Million points, it is the way of things.

Any system that I build that pushes the envelope for folding will also be good for the other stuff I like to do, graphic arts and music. Well, overkill for music, but it's all good. :D

The Indiana chapter of farmpuma folding at home has returned to 24/7 production! Huge Thank Yous to my son (Florida chapter of...) who covered our nut with his 660Ti during my downtime and to TR forum member localhostrulez who gave me an excellent deal on my currently crunching 550Ti which should be joined relatively soon by a 650Ti.

In addition to its folding prowess the 550Ti gen2 Fermi chip heat generation is a welcome plus to heating my bedroom, especially during our recent cold spell. Using EVGA Precision the GPU heatsink fan is set to 58% (<~2400 rpm) which blends well with the symphony of fans in my Antec 900 case. Idle temp is <~30C with 100% load temp running <~70C, typically 65 to 67C, while crunching a (so far) steady stream of species=21 762x work units. These 14093 point beasts are crunching at more than 16000 points per day and much to the relief of my half speed dial-up wanna be internet, downloads are less than 200KBs with uploads less than one MB!

My engines are offline at the moment; having trouble getting the warp core just to boot. That problem with the beeping started again (maybe it never went completely away). I've done as much process-of-elimination as I can with the box on the floor, so the next step is to get the unit on the bench. That will happen later today.

Worst case scenario: The motherboard is bad.
Even worse (because it can always be "even worse"): I'll need to replace the motherboard, memory, and CPU. I hope my backups are good, because I'll be relying on Macrium's redeploy feature.

Woohoo! I just broke back into top 10 producers on the team!

On a 2.4GHz. core I7 laptop, a 2.2GHz. core I3 laptop, and a 3GHz. dual core Xeon all running the Chrome client when the systems are not being used for other things.

Really kinda sad if you think about it...
