What graphic card and driver version do you have?
And have you tried both a 3D fullscreen OpenGL application and 3D fullscreen DirectX application? e.g. for OpenGL, could be the Doom or Quake demos, for 3D fullscreen DirectX application many other games.

I'm curious as the graphic client often causes problems (usually forced
minimize) with full screen 3D applications (e.g. games) but not necessarily - I'm tempted to start off a databases to say what works, what doesn't.
In the what doesn't - 9600 series cards is well known to have issues. My X600 has some problems too.

Let me know how it goes!

Ok, I'm running a single 6600GT in an Asus A8N SLI mobo. Latest drivers whatever they are, straight from NVidia's web site.

UT2K4 runs perfectly, whether I have the graphical version openly displaying or not. Don't have anything OpenGL to run sorry. I can't see how there could be problems unless you have the graphical version displaying concurrently (which is dumb anyway).

Don't have any OpenGL demo games? Not even Doom III?
Nah, the problem happens even if the graphic client is minimized and paused!
The main gist is that windows doesn't like an opengl mixing it up with a full screen program and depending on the card & driver it may cause a full screen 3D graphic program to minimize.

I decided to help because it seems like the summer has put a dent in ugn's folding team. Even my one computer would help some, maybe not alot, because I use it for other things, but better than nothing (anyways its on all day and all night folding, so it gets some good folding time at night).

A bit late with my "hello" but thanks to Flying Fox's help, I was able to get a bit more out of my chip, and then with a bios update, a lot more. As thanks, I hereby dedicate 1/2 of my e6300 @ 3.0ghz to the UGN for a period of 1 month. I will make the change this evening to the core which is least progressed on it's current WU.

Hell who knows, maybe I'll just convert all my boxes to UGN  You never know, atleast then I can be a part of the top 10.

Welcome to the team! Any chance that you can convince Hackaday to join us as a subteam? Then you don't have to be alone. We have a few subteams here, UGN being the largest one, SereneScreen, CrimsonRevenge are the others too. I think GE_Pharmacy, AmericanMutual and others are corporate borgs as well. May be you all can join in the fun. :)

I think I've stated elsewhere but all my boxes are folding 24/7 for UGN AFAIK now. I might have a staggler or two out there.

I hope I don't get thrown out for this, but in addition to my X2 4800+ box, I have a couple of Macs folding for UGN. I'll get my Core 2 Extreme box online and folding today too.

Flyingfox: Team hackaday wouldn't be interested in joining our team I think. They're half as big as TR is.. and they're currently ranked 30th worldwide and gaining..

http://folding.extremeoverclocking.com/ ... s=&t=44851

Besides, they have their own website! Not to mention folding website, wiki, etc.

TR is still the "main team" listed on the stats. The idea of "subteams" is to band together a bunch of people with a limited number of machines, folding under the same user name. In this case, every one folds under the name "UnitedGerbilNation", as if it is a single user under team TR. Notice the big guns on the team like drfish, leor, and juggernaut? They are superb individuals who have access to a lot of machines by their own efforts, either through personal collection and/or corporate borgs (in which they have permission to do so I may add). However, for those of us who will never get out of the "own more than 1-3 machines" situation, folding under a banner name gives us a sense of belonging to something greater to fight with the big guns. :)

There are other subteams on TR, and in other teams too, like SereneScreen, CrimsonRevenge. Even TR Frankenbot can be considered a subteam, because it not only consists of nodes that are managed by cass, but some people also contribute a few machines of their own (folding in their place but under the frankenbot ID) to it as well.

It can be fun if you think your point contribution is small and want to be part of something bigger.

Hope this helps. Do I get a cookie now?

Edit: we should really move the discussion to the other thread. This sticky thread is supposedly for just counting people who fold under UGN. Nitrodist, if you are interested in more discussion, I invite you to switch to the other thread.

Fold on!

How much folding power are we talking about? Just the one in your sig? Or you have a nice little farm going? Just wondering...

My practice just moved to a new location so I took advantage of it and snuck it onto the computers there, I believe it's 8 in all but I can only leave two running at night. They are running at a very slow pace (because we do VOIP and all of our billing online so they will finish a 500 frame work unit in a little under a week. So I guess I'll be putting out a little over 15 WU's a week.

Friendly reminder to make sure that you have permission to do so. No gerbils need to be fired from their jobs for this.

I told them about it and they didn't really care one way or teh other. I only turn it on during non working hours though.
