Why just one? There are several folks who are strong proponents of the RC5 effort and several (myself included) who favor SETI.

Sure, in either case, we will probably never be a major force, but I'm glad to contribute what I can to a TR team.

The major question is do we have enough members to support both an RC5 and SETI team? I think so.

Question to Damage: would you be opposed to TR having 2 "official" teams?

Why not have it as the next poll?

Howdy folkes,

Just my two cents but since some of the distributed clients can coexist on the same system and they all have their merits why not create a team for each one? Personally I like SETI but give everyone a choice.

Based on the amount of computing power listed in the "Post your home network" thread, we should be able to kick some tail if we could just get people to commit...

It should go on the front page or something.

I'm guessing too few people know about it.(the current TR RC5 effort)

Is the RC5 team the only one currently active at the time? If so how do you join up with it?

Click on "I want to join this team!".
You have to be registered with distributed.net though.

The RC5 team has made the top 1000 daily at least once, as far as I know. And I'm bound and determined to drag us kicking and screaming into the top 2000 overall. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

have joined the rc5 effort. If a TR team for Seti or Folding starts up though, I may switch over to assuage my meddling moral need to be philanthropic. (unless Forge promises to teach me his ways of massive post count gainage)

I'm personally shocked that I move more units than Forge yesterday. I've seen his setup in the "what's your network or such" thread. He must be holding back the big guns for some mysterious offensive!

Hmmm, I'm starting to feel bad here. You guys are catching up to me. Wouldn't be such a big deal except my totals are for 7 machines.

I'm running it on a p200 mmx, p2@450 (when idle), and XP 1600+ (all the cycles not used for goofing off anyways).
