As for the Windows SMP client errors, I have a vague memory of one of the descriptions at Stanford saying something about the Deino client that made it seem like it was the better one, though I can't remember what gave me that idea any more.

Please, at least no funky colour. Picking non-default colour is going to please either the beige or blue camp and piss off the other.
