Well there've been some changes down at the Aul' Haggis! Farms since I last posted an inventory. Here's where I stand now.

At work-
P4D @ 3.2GHz. w/ Geforce 9800 GX2. 1 CPU client, 2 GPU clients.
Core 2 T7600 @ 2.33GHz. 2 CPU clients.
Q6600 @ 2.4GHz.w/ Geforce 8800 GTS. 1 SMP client, 1 GPU client.
Q6600 @ 2.4GHz. w/ Radeon 4870 1 SMP client, 1 GPU client
Phenom 9500 @ 2.2GHz. w/ dual Radeon 3870's. 1 SMP client, 2 GPU clients

Sadly, I had to return the last of the dual Quad Mac's to their rightful owners in the art department. Sure were nice producers while that lasted though.

At home-
With GPU1 ending, and the paltry ppd those ancient single cores could muster, it just wasn't worth the power or heat load to keep the bulk of the menagerie of misfit machines running. So I've culled the less efficient boxes from the mix and am currently running-

Xeon E3110 @ 3GHz. w/ Radeon 3870. 1 SMP client, 1 GPU Client
Q6600 @ 2.4GHz. w/Geforce 9800 X2. 1 SMP client, 2 GPU clients
PS3 (With the kids back in school, the PS3's finally spending more time folding than playing games or movies).

I also have two other bare Q6600's that'll be coming back online using Notfred's USB folding stick as soon as it's consistently cool enough to keep the AC off.

UGN needs you Haggis. We're trying to hit 100K PPD. With your farm we'd smack that out of the park :o

Got to let a few catch us first. Otherwise no one would want to try.

P4 2.8GHz

I've been pretty happy with the output so far.

Wow, nice. How are you dealing with the heat they produce?

My home machines are going to be down for bit. The city's been doing road work on the main thru street to our neighborhood, and in the process they managed to knock down a power pole. They got us back up and running after a couple of hours, but say the power may be up and down while they're putting it all back together. Better to just leave everything off until it's all sorted out.

Bummer Haggis. I hope all your PCs come back with no hiccups. :D

I live in Oregon and it does get cold here in the winter. Right now I have gutted all the interior walls in my house and I am trying to get it insulated and drywalled before the cold weather hits. I plan to heat the house by using the heat output from the computer room. I am looking forward too a very warm house this year. The rest of the year I roll the Farm in front of two windows with large box fans exhausting the heat out the windows, along with about five other fans to help. It does get warm or should I say hot in the room.

Drat! I was hoping for something much more clever and exotic.

That's pretty much the solution I'm using, except in Minnesota it gets too hot and muggy during the summer to leave the windows open, plus I don't want to be pumping the AC from the rest of the house outside. During the winter it's proven to be a very effective solution though.
