HD 4850 Folding Problems

Tue Dec 09, 2008 2:55 pm

I've been folding for quite some time now with my 8600GT. I recently bought a Saphire HD 4850 and set it up. It works great in games and overclocked as far as ATI CCC would let me. My only problem is that it won't fold. Whenever I launch the GPU Folding client it says Working 0/0 or Results successfully sent but never actually folds. I tried re-installing the folding client but to no avail. I'm eager to get folding for TR again so any help would be much appareciated. I'm using the latest 8.11 Catylist drivers.

What system are you running? If you are running Vista try running the client in XP compatibility mode. In order to do this you right click the file and it is under one of the tabs. Thats what I had to do to get my 4850s to fold.
To Start Press Any Key'. Where's the ANY key?
If something's hard to do, then it's not worth doing
You know, boys, a nuclear reactor is a lot like a woman. You just have to read the manual and press the right buttons.

How about uninstalling GPU client
but this time make sure to manually delete all folder(s) created by the previous installation
then re-install the GPU client again?
Life is short

I'm running Vista Home Premium 32. I tried uninstalling both the GPU and CPU clients and then deleting all the folders associated with Folding@Home. After I reinstalled them it still refuses to do anything when I open Folding@Home. I tried running it in XP compatibility mode as well as running it as an admin but still nothing.
