...PG makes Comcast look like a professional customer service company.
[rant1]I never expect "customer service" from academic types, and ESPECIALLY not from academic types who depend on government grants for their study and sustenance. Time and time again, they never seem to "get it". Worst of all are academic types who never work in a real business and then go on to teach. I swear, each level of education degree should have a prerequisite of 5 more years of real life work. It might take 15 years for the first "street educated" doctorates to graduate, but I think it would be the biggest improvement to education since the creation of the first university. [/rant1]
The core x15 work units are a prime example of why academic types never "get it". They have no bonuses, they make one of my graphic cards cry in pain, which makes me cry in pain.
Because there is no early return bonus, I feel that these are not meaningful, important, urgent, or even mildly concerning to Pande Group. But I am not going to waste my time complaining to academic types. Doing so would just frustrate and anger me.
But if these crap x15s keep coming by the end of April, then I'll just quit. I'll just stop folding for the summertime like everybody else does. No sense in having to hear tinnitus twice at once through the hot summer months. No sense in making my house hot and shortening the lifespan of my equipment. Not for work units that are supposedly slated for end of life and nobody at PG/Stanford really feels are important.
I'll start up again after the US Labor Day holiday. And if the crap x15s keep coming after labor day, I'll pause for September and come back for Frankie 2015. Their loss, not mine.
