I really hope folders won't have to mess with "beta" or "advanced" flags to get the new and improved GPU core projects.

So, my 970 is what, about a year and a half old.
Just now they are getting core 18 out to run reasonably on this architecture.

They are easily 2 years behind OPEN CL, with their open MM...which is easily a year until they get cores in service.

I wouldn't hold my breath on this "announcement"...more like a statement of intention.

After more than a year, they haven't bothered to correct a know mistake in their reporting of STATS.

This guy stopped keeping track.

If you are going to publish knowingly false stats for more than a year...can you really trust the statistical work of the entire project ?

posted on the reddit...no response.

just continues to loose all credibility.

Very welcome news. A few long-time EVGA folders have been so upset over the protracted problems with Maxwell that they went on a literal crusade to force Pande Group to acknowledge and do something about the ongoing issue, looks like it worked. Others just quit folding entirely on Maxwell cards, understandable with the cards having been out for over a year and still wasting so much electricity for due to errored, uncompleted WU's.

Personally I wish Pande Group would make more of an effort to resolve and correct known bugs. There are known, specific problems between Windows 10, NVIDIA drivers, and Folding that was stated would not be fixed until they release a replacement for 7.4.4... and yet 7.4.4 itself fixed one bug that hard-locked systems, that was ongoing for several years prior.

*&* Almost recent news *&*

At 6:20 AM EST on 29 Feb 2016 an email notification arrived in my gmail account about this -

"Planned server outage 2/28
February 24, 2016 by Vijay Pande ·

The Stanford networking team will be upgrading some infrastructure this coming Sunday, February 28, 2016, from 12AM – 4AM. This work will be partially disruptive to where some key FAH content is served from, namely the http://www.stanford.edu pages. Our site will experience some downtime during this window. We cannot pinpoint when the downtime will occur, however it will last approximately 5-10 consecutive minutes sometime during this window."

ASSuming Dr. Pande meant PST the email notification arrived almost twenty-four hours after the event ended. If anyone noticed this event, now you know what happened.

P.S. Two articles back on 06 Dec 2015 Dr. Pande posted a list of infrastructure updates made during 2015 and a list of things he hopes to accomplish during 2016. da blog - http://folding.stanford.edu/home/blog
