Nice 5x1 120Hz Eyefinity setup

Sun Jul 22, 2012 4:49 pm
Someone sent me this link that shows just what you can do with a bit too much money. ;)
A 5x1 portrait mode Eyefinity setup using 4 way Crossfire with 7970s running Guild Wars 2. It's clearly not stressing the GPUs as it looks like the FPS stay around 100.

5400x1920 @ 120 Hz, that's 10.4 megapixels.

I was able to drive my puny 2560x1600 (4.1 megapixel) display with decent GW2 performance at maximum settings with a single Radeon HD6970. My PC was pulling over 400 watts from the UPS and there was a lot of heat being discharged from the case while I was playing, but it played pretty decently. I didn't check the frame rate, but I'm certain that it was less than 60 fps.

Dang. Imagine playing a RTS with that? There would be sooooooo many units on that screen it'd be crazy.

But that right there would be some gaming heaven if I ever saw it.
