DFI RS690 motherboard due in October
Users hoping for a relatively beefy integrated graphics solution for AMD
processors may get their wish in a couple of months. According to The
Inquirer, DFI plans to
a new motherboard based on ATI's RS690 chipset in October.
The RS690 integrates Radeon X700 graphics and will be paired with ATI's
latest RS600 south bridge on the DFI board. The board will reportedly
include DVI, HDTV, and HDMI outputs, which could make it an appealing
choice for home theater PCs and budget desktop PCs alike. Also on the
menu are four 300MB/s Serial ATA ports, eight-channel audio, and
FireWire. The Inq says the board will be called Infinity RS690-M2/G but
doesn't give any indication of its expected price tag.
