Jon Peddie Research has put together some interesting numbers that quantify the value of the PC desktop graphics market. According to the firm, the market was worth a total of $5.88 billion in the second quarter of this year. Performance and enthusiast graphics alone represented a whopping 73.4% of that total ($4.32 billion), even though integrated graphics made up most of the shipments—62%, to be exact. The dollar value of the integrated graphics market was much lower, though, adding up to only 8.2% ($482 million) of the total PC desktop graphics market in the second quarter. The rest of the market was split up between mainstream graphics, which made up another 8.2% of the total value, workstation graphics, which accounted for 8.1%, and value graphics, which represented only 2.1%.
