Nvidia prepping yet another G71-based card?
The GeForce 7 graphics card lineup may soon gain yet another member, according to a card manufacturer insider quoted by NGOHQ. The insider says Nvidia is prepping a GeForce 7950 GS that will have both slightly lower performance and a slightly lower price tag than the recently-launched GeForce 7950 GT. NGOHQ says the card—if it is indeed in Nvidia's roadmap—may be either exclusive to PC vendors, much like the GeForce 7900 GS was before its retail launch, or an AGP-only model. However, the site also suggests the GeForce 7950 GS could be a counterattack to ATI's new Radeon X1900 XT 256MB, which offers performance close to that of the GeForce 7950 GT for $40-50 less.
