Given the imminent release of Nvidia's next-generation graphics cards, many users looking for a cheap graphics card upgrade are considering their options. Among those seems to be Aussie gerbil cappa84, who recently posted a thread in our forums asking whether Nvidia's G80 launch would trigger a drop in prices for GeForce 7900-series graphics cards. It's hard to say for sure, of course, but a couple of other gerbils think it's a safe bet that prices will go down. One even spotted a GeForce 7900 GT already selling for just $199.99 after a mail-in rebate at Newegg.
What do you think? Is it worth waiting a few days or weeks for prices to go down or do you think it's a better idea to wait until cheaper derivatives of the G80 and ATI's upcoming R600 come out? Either way, feel free to register a forums account and hop into the discussion.
