Foxconn eyeing the memory business
After Foxconn's recent foray
into the graphics card business, the Taiwanese giant may now be looking to diversify even further
by setting foot in the memory market. According to a report on DigiTimes, Foxconn is currently in talks with memory firm A-Data about the subject. While Foxconn has denied rumors that it plans to simply acquire the company, A-Data Chairman Simon Chen has confirmed to the local press that his company is indeed in talks with Foxconn. Chen said Foxconn executives had gotten in touch with A-Data through an introduction from Taiwanese foundry UMC, and that Foxconn was attempting to "understand the memory module business and assess the possibility of tapping into the segment."
