Microsoft adds Vista support to Zune

The Zune was pretty much a Windows XP-only affair when it launched, locking out customers with Macs and those running the public pre-release builds of Windows Vista. Microsoft did pledge to add Vista support long before the operating system's January 30, 2007 release date. And as promised, the company has now released a software update for the Zune that finally adds support for Windows Vista. The update installer can be downloaded from Microsoft's Zune site here. The update itself weighs in at around 20MB and supports English-language versions of Windows Vista, Windows XP (Home, Pro, and Tablet PC editions,) and Windows Media Center Edition 2005 (provided one has the latest Update Rollups installed.) Microsoft still hasn't announced plans to add support to MacOS X, although some users may get there on their own eventually.
